Is a common widely occurring type of  intrusive, felsic, igneous rock with an unyielding endurence and steadfastness composition. which is granular and crystalline in texture. Is usually found in continental plataforms.Granite colors goes from pink to grey depending on their chemisty and minerealogy ontaining at least 20% quartz  feldspar with minor amounts of micas, amphiboles and other minerals. Igneous rock formed through the slow cooling and crystallization process of magma that can take millions of years under the earth's surface. 

The word granite comes from the latin granum, a grain, taking the reference from the coarse-grained structure of this rock. the most well known and common igneous rock used to make Kitchen countertop,bathrooms vanity tops, floor tiles am much more around homes and comercial buildings. Granite has been used for external applications since thousands years ago.

Granite is the rock most often quarried as a "dimension stone"  from the open pit mine(a natural rock material that has been cut into several blocks or slabs of specific length, width and thickness). Granite is extremely resistant to most abrasion, strong enough to bear significant weight, inert enough to resist weathering and it accepts a brilliant polish. These characteristics make it a very desirable and useful dimension stone.
